There are many myths about masturbation. These are mainly perpetuated to make people feel guilt or shame about exploring their own bodies and deriving sexual pleasure. Instead of buying into old wives’ tales such as masturbation causing blindness, here are some reasons TO MASTURBATE.

Some studies have shown that masturbation may

– Lower stress

– Release tension (sexual and general)

– Improve self-esteem and body image

– Strengthen muscle tone in pelvic and anal regions

– Relieve cramps associated with menstruation

– Elevate mood

– Lessen physical pain (by elevating the amount of endorphins in the bloodstream)

– Boost concentration

– Improve quality of sleep

– Improve quality of sex

– Reduce the risk of prostate cancer

– Help prevent cervical and urinary tract infections
